Waste- and drinking water treatment
|
Lime is an indispensable material for the treatment of waste- and drinking water.
It is essentially used to:
-correct the pH factor of excessively acidic waters and prevent dissolved metals from becoming insoluble and precipitating as metal hydroxideprecipitate phosphates, sulphates and fluorides as easily recoverable insoluble calcium salts;
-remineralise excessively soft water (aggressive to pipes); -decarbonate excessively hard water to prevent scaling of pipes. |
